A trip to Portugal with notebooks, pencils, graphite, Indian ink and watercolours. We invited 22 urban sketchers to visit Portugal and share their drawings and their talent, heightening awareness about the country from a different perspective. In black and white or in colour, there is plenty to explore: the landscapes, nature and heritage, the cuisine and the people, the nooks and crannies that pass us by. You’ll be surprised by these artistic moments and inspired for your next trip to Portugal.

Intense and colorful Sketch Tour Portugal in Alentejo by Marion Rivolier | Via Urbansketchers Blog | 3/03/2018 I was glad to be invited by Urban Sketchers and the Tourism of Portugal to travel in Alentejo during 6 days for the event Sketch Tour Portugal. My host sketcher was João Moreno. The region of Alentejo is huge, covering almost a third of the country. We were mostly in the Northeast. We visited ten towns in five days: Evora, Estremoz, Marvao, Elvas, etc. #Portugal Photo: Monsaraz

Guimarães is often referred to as the "cradle of Portugal". There are plenty of historic places to visit and it's a great base to explore the North region of Portugal. Is it on your plans yet? Credits: @linhares.mr #Portugal #SketchTourPortugal #CantSkipPortugal #NorthRegion

Our Italian sketcher friend, Benedetta Dossi, walked around Porto drawing some its most beautiful places. Here she gives us a fresh perspective on the Crystal Palace, one of the city's iconic green spaces. Have you been there yet? What's your favourite spot in #Porto?
