The Birth of Durga. At a single point, the energy of all the fires coalesced and became Shiva, in the form of a young woman. Her face was from the light of Shiva. Her ten arms were from Lord Vishnu. Her legs were from Lord Brahma. The dispossessed gods were drawn to Durga. They praised her and gave to her their divine gifts: Pinakadhrik gave Her a trident. Krishna gave her a disc. Varuna, the sea, gave her a conch and the god of fire gave her a missile.

In the Purashcharyarnava Tantra it is described how the siddhi (attainment of a certein power) Matangi Devi gives is that whenever posed with a question Matangi Devi will whisper the answer in to her devotees ear.
Lajja Gauri is a goddess associated with abundance and fertility. Fertility is symbolizes by the genitals (Yoni or the Womb) as blooming Lotus flower, in some cases denoting blooming youth, and in others through a detailed depiction of an exposed vulva. A blossoming lotus replaces her head and neck, an icon often used in Tantra. The seven Chakras of human energy anatomy are often depicted as blossoming lotuses, and the Goddess is often depicted in her Sri Yantra as a Yoni.
