American Rambouillet Sheep Breeders Association
Rambouillet. The largest and strongest of the fine-wool sheep 18.4 and 20.5 Microns. Mature rams weigh about 250-300 lbs. Mature ewes weigh about 200-275 lbs. Lifespan can be upwards of 10-12 years. Valued in America’s western ranges for their hardiness and ability to thrive in sparse native grasslands, Rambouillets bunch up tightly to sleep, which gives them a higher degree of protection from predators than breeds that spread out when resting.
