Returning from a brief holiday in central Germany in 1992, I spent a while on Frankfurt's observation deck before catching my Lufthansa flight back to Heathrow. One machine that caught my eye was this Northwest DC-10, it being a series 40 variant which was only purchased by two airlines, the other being Japan Air Lines.
