5th grade students multiply 3-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers in this math activity that doubles as Halloween classroom décor. Each math pennant is in the shape of a ghost. The multiplication problems on each pennant vary in difficulty allowing you to easily differentiate. Once a pennant is complete, it can be hung along a string in your classroom to show the world that, "Hey, we know how to multiply!"

The Fridge was where my students could choose to hang their graded papers that made them feel proud. I loved this bulletin board because on harder days when one of my students felt he couldn't do the math, I could point to it as a reminder that "Yes, you CAN!" After posting on social media about a teacher hack to eliminate lamination glare, a friend who went back to the classroom this year asked if I'd make her some coordinate grid fridge letters like the ones in the video I shared.
