This illustration speaks to Kamala's isolation, a theme found in many of the books we have read recently. It is a relatable emotion for adolescents, and being lonely can lead people to making bad decisions. This could be an interesting topic of discussion.

MS MARVEL #19
Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) has been one of my favorite comic book reads lately! (by abbydraws)
Kamala, a Muslim teenager, is struggling with her identity. She was raised in America, but with the Islamic, and Middle Eastern cultures. Her parents want to ensure she becomes the perfect Muslim woman. Yet, Kamala wishes to just be normal. I would look at excerpts that describe both Kamala's home, and school life. I think it can offer more insight into what being part of a minority group is like.
