Portuguese colonial war [1961 to 1974] in Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique (The Portuguese Vietnam war). This pic is from early in the war - the soldiers wear helmets and FN Fal rifles. The helmets would soon be dropped in favor of Bigeard "lizard-type" caps, and the FN would be replaced by the G3 rifle.

December 2011 ~ Lumumba was the Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo after its independence from Belgium. He was a leader in the Mouvement National Congolais (MNC) and participated in several anti-colonial rebellions. When Lumumba became Prime Minister. He was challenged by military coup and turned to the Soviet Union for financial assistance. In September 1960, the President dismissed Lumumba from the government. Shortly after, he was arrested and shot by firing squad.
