LE CRAVATE  ~ it was Louis XIV who brought the fashion for scarves as decoration. On one of the parades he saw Croatian army which uniforms included neckerchiefs, and was so impressed with this bright article of clothing. On the next day Louis XIV  ordered for himself several scarves and called them "cravate" . So Sun King made scarves the symbols belonging to the nobility, and wearing them was a real luxury.
