The Balkan Ecology Project (BALKEP) is a permaculture-inspired, grassroots project based in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria). BALKEP is devoted to the design and exploration of ecologically-sound human habitats and serves as a demonstration site for local residents, communities and visitors from abroad.

Nature was generous with Mt. Zlatibor giving it its beautiful scenery, rolling heights overgrown with pine, fir, and spruce forests here and there, vast meadows decorated with white narcissuses and other colourful flowers, very pleasant and mild climate, a great number of sunny days, unpolluted air and other amenities. Owing to specific climate to harmonius relationship among wooded areas and spacious meadows covered with streams, unpolluted air, healthy and clear water...

Sucevița Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox convent situated in the Northeastern part of Romania. It is situated near the Suceviţa River, in the village Sucevița, 18 km away from the city of Rădăuţi, Suceava County. It is located in the southern part of the historical region of Bukovina. It was built in 1585 by Ieremia Movilă, Gheorghe Movilă and Simion Movilă. In 2010, the monastery has been inscribed by UNESCO on its list of World Heritage Sites.
