Starfish - ©/cc Sandra Scherer - so naturally beautiful!

We walked the ocean's edge in February one year and scoped up frozen little red starfish. Holding them in my hand the warmth brought them to life; Of course we returned them to their sea. What a lovely memory.

Sea dragon

This animal, the Leafy Seadragon, is a Threatened species. They are threatened by collecting for use in Chinese medicine (and by habitat loss). Just one more example of the beautiful natural world exploited by idiotic traditional Chinese cruelty.

LEAFY SEA DRAGON FACT: These creatures have adapted some of the most ornate and effective camouflage of any creature on the planet. These striking sea horse relatives are found only in the drifting seaweed and undersea forests of Australia.

This orca, named Granny, is the proof that orca whales or any other animal should not stay at sea world. This 103 year old orca can be compared to any other orca at sea world with the life span of about years. And sea world says that's normal!
