The Silence of the Lambs- just watched this for the first time. Let's just say that I carry a baseball bat in my car now.

1991 - El silencio de los corderos (The Silence of the Lambs) - Jonathan Demme

Flight Plan (2005) Kyle Pratt is on a trans-Atlantic flight when her daughter vanishes, but the captain and air marshal begin to doubt that the child was ever on board. With no support from the plane's staff, Kyle can only rely on herself to find her little girl. Jodie Foster, Peter Sarsgaard, Sean Bean...18b

Definitely not a movie for everyone; perhaps the best example of a sociological character study if I've ever seen one. The insight into a psychopath is quite unsettling yet unfiltered. On one level, at least mine, it's kind of fascinating, even though it's also exceptionally disturbing.

The accused, directed by Jonathan Kaplan, starring Kelly McGillis and Jodie Foster, 1988 - Powerful movie I saw this movie in England and in Germany:in german:ANGEKLAGT ,echt ein geiler Film.

Scene from "Contact." Movie was sentimental and a departure in many ways from the novel by Carl Sagan, but I admit, I love my Sci Fi and strong female leads in American cinema.

Why I love … Jodie Foster first hearing the alien signal in Contact

CF et al flare coping trick: watch one of your all time most favourite 'comfort' movies even though you know all the words to both it and the book on which it was based. (Next up: the Riddick movies)

Jodie Foster More slowly falling into sight and showering into stippled faces, darkening, condensing all his light; in spite of all the dreaming squandered upon him with that look, suffers our uses and abuses, sinks through the drift of bodies, sinks through the drift of vlasses to evening to the beggar in the park who, weary, without lamp or book prepares stupendous studies: the fiery event of every day in endless endless assent. (Elizabeth BIshop...)

Jodie Foster - I can see her playing Kate in the movie version of the book.

theseanachaidh: A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism. ~ Carl Sagan, Contact, pg 244

Inspiring novel by one of the greatest science populizer of our time. Worth reading ever if you've seen the Jodi Foster movie.
