Icon of Theotokos of Vladimir (Our Lady of Vladimir), considered the holy protectress of Russia.  Painted around 1130 in Constantinople during the Comnenian period, it is regarded as one of the best preserved surviving Byzantine icons of that time.  Tempera on panel, 104 cm x 69 cm, housed in the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia.
