Montachute House Orangery, England, built by 1840. It was recorded in a bound folio belonging to Mr David Phelips from that time, entitled “the new garden glasshouse”. The story may start earlier than this as the west wall seems to pre date any other outer wall and through Edward Phelips’ diaries in 1778, hinting that Orange trees were taken out into the gardens in the summer, it would follow that another building of this nature was perhaps located where the Orangery is situated.
