Doeskin, decorated with gilt buttons, bullion gimp and purple velvet slashes. An English edict of 1579: 'whereas divers of late years have used to wear privy coats and doublets of defense, thereby intending to quarrel and make frays upon others unharmed, not only in cites, towns and public assembly but within her majesty's court...her majesty doth expressly prohibit and forbid all and every of her subjects whatsoever the wearing of any such privy secret kind of coat or doublet of defense.'" 17th Century

Anna of Austria - Galerilla       The resource for this Spanish court clothing is queen Anna`s portrait by Anthonis Mor made in 1570. The pattern of brown galerilla is based on R. Burgen drawing, the round sleeves are inspired by J.Alcga. The shape of decorative ribbon on the sleeve outer side are based on the decoration of Marketa Frantiska Lobkovicz cloak.
