HM Queen Maria Amélia of Portugal. Died: October 25, 1951, aged 86. The last queen of Portugal narrowly missed being assassinated when her husband and son were murdered in front of her in February, 1908. Her second son became king, but the family was exiled in 1910 and she spent most of her remaining life in France. She is buried in the Royal Pantheon located in the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora in Lisbon, Portugal.
