Stained Glass Spider Web - Turqouise

This web is one of a series of ten panels I am in the process of making this season. Throughout the 40-piece web is a variety of clear textured glass as well as four well-placed soft turqouise colored pieces. The panel is certainly ideal for October, but also something to admire through the entire year. One of the reasons I love working with the clear textured glass is because as the outdoor environment changes through the seasons, you'll notice a shift in colors that these pieces bring…

The Cosmovitral is a botanical garden in the heart of Toluca. It boasts 400 species of plants and the largest series of stained glass windows in the world. The stained glass ceiling measures 3200 square meters and is made of glass pieces. The stained glass, finished in 1990 by Leopoldo Flores Valdes, includes 28 different colors of glass and is considered one of the largest artworks in the world. In the glass, Flores Valdes sought to depict his interpretation of time, movement and the contradictory phenomena taking place in matter, from a cosmogonic perception.
