The Lower East Side also had a strong Jewish community, which you can still see through a handful of well-preserved turn of the century synagogues, like Staton Street, and tons of great food spots. Katz’s is obviously the most iconic, but there’s also Guss’ Pickles, Russ and Daughters, and Yonah Shimmel’s Knish Bakery, which makes a mean potato knish #nyc #eattheworld #nycfoodie #wanderlust #lowereastside Manhattan, New York City, Wanderlust, Daughters, York, East Side, Lower East Side, York City, Nyc Restaurants

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is an amazing place. Its plant collections cover the whole tropical world from Madagascar to Cuba, from Mexico and Panama to Kenya. They also work with other botanical gardens to preserve tropical species. It was founded by David Fairchild, who traveled all over the world collecting specimens, and Col. Robert Hiester Montgomery, who donated the land. This is my "home" botanical garden and I visit often. Hell's Kitchen is a neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City between 34th Street and 59th Street, from 8th Avenue to the Hudson River. Once a bastion of poor and working-class Irish Americans, Hell's Kitchen's proximity to Midtown has changed it over the last three decades of the 20th century and into the new millennium.
