At the end of this street the old Church of Santa Catalina can be seen, later converted in a kitchen. Regarding architecture we can see two buttresses, characteristic of Arequipa architecture. Dim the lights, much better on black.
The Bishop's Palace is a hall house dating from the 12thC, later much altered, with a round tower built by Bishop Reid in 1541-1548. A later addition was made by the notorious Patrick Stewart, Earl of Orkney, who built the adjacent Earl's Palace between 1600 and 1607 in a splendid renaissance style.
