A British, Canadian, Australian and American design movement from 1880 - 1910, emphasizing the simplicity of form and function. A reaction against the industrial revolution, it embraced the preservation of quality natural materials, including traditional craftsmanship using simple forms and often applied medieval, romantic or folk styles of decoration. It developed first in the British Isles, led by artist and writer William Morris. Designers include Frank Lloyd Wright, Maher and Stickley.
