July 8, 2010 My rule about sunsets is this: "If it looks like it's going to be a good sunset one hour before sunset, it won't be." Great sunsets always sneak up on you the last minute. Tonight, the fog lifted just as the sun was setting, and 20 minutes later, the high clouds lit up for about 3 minutes. I used a 3 stop hard edged neutral density filter to hold back the sky.
