As we approach the film’s 20th anniversary, here’s a timeline of how The Matrix came to be, and what happened next. Though Warner Bros. made the film and it starred Keanu Reeves, The Matrix arrived as an unknown quantity in the spring of 1999.
All of our favorite movies went a long way before they were developed into the final flick. At the very beginning, each of them was just a simple concept born in a filmmaker's mind which had to be communicated to a variety of different professionals involved in the process.
