Pisac Market, Peru. Repinned by Elizabeth VanBuskirk. If those at the market have brought corn to trade or sell, you know they live in the lowlands, like the river valley near Pisac. One major purpose of Andean markets is for people who live at the high altitudes--eg 12,000 above sea level can come to market to trade their potatoes, which can be grown high up, for lower products like vegetables, fruit, corn.
PeruPeru. ~ Okay, I must ask -Is this a normal sight in Peru!?! Poor... ummm... Owl(?)! The POOR THING looks seriously haggard & like it's completely OUT of it's 'COMFORT ZONE'! I'm torn about the... uhhhh... shirt(?) [or are they pants?], on the... hmmm... Llama(?)! It LOOKS ADORABLE, BUT is it HAPPY in them?!!!!! It really strikes me as a VERY STRANGE SCENE, but hey... maybe it's kind of a thing (or their thing?), in this part of Peru... ??? LOL!!!
