St. James Palace, London. St James's Palace is one of London's oldest palaces and was built by Henry VIII between 1531 and 1536, on the site of the Augustinian Hospital of St James, which was later a leper hospital for young women, and once owned by Eton College. Henry’s second wife, Anne Boleyn, stayed at the Palace on the night after her coronation. Two of Henry VIII's children died there: Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Richmond and Somerset and Mary I (Mary's heart and bowels are buried in the palace's Chapel Royal). In 1558, Mary Tudor signed the treaty surrendering Calais at the Palace. London Eye, London Pubs, London Places, Dinastia Tudor, The Tudor, Mary Tudor, Tudor History, British History
