Stephen Shore: Actually, I started to use color a year before, in 1971, with two projects: the Mick-O-Matics, which were color snapshots, and the Amarillo postcards. I think it was simply the time was right for color photography.
I thought about full on painting a wall in my room before. Not sure about the furniture or carpet though ;)
Stephen Shore, American (1947-present), deadpan images of banal scenes & bjects in the United States, and for his pioneering use of color in art photography. Shore’s work has been associated with late 70′s early 80′s societal shift to a more personal individual centric view of human experience. His eye became the means to reflect the cultural landscape.
