actually this is incorrectly credited to emily dickenson...the quote is from Charles Dickens' Great Expectations: "Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape.”

I posted this a long time ago, and this pin has had more repins and likes than any other thing I have put on Pinterest. I just found out that the poem is NOT by Emily Dickinson, but it is by a poet named Colleen Corah Hitchcock. Sorry for the wrong information and also sorry it isn't by Emily Dickinson cause I really like her poetry.
