Camille Claudel, tragic life, incredible artist, muse of Rodin. Ended up in insane asylum, where she stayed until her death. Tragic women's story. At least her art now has a place next to Rodin at the Rodin museum in Paris.
Portrait of Camille Claudel, 1890's - It would be a mistake to assume that Claudel's reputation has survived simply because of her once notorious association with Rodin. The novelist and art critic Octave Mirbeau described her as "A revolt against nature: a woman genius". Her early work is similar to Rodin's in spirit, but shows an imagination and lyricism quite her own. https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Camille_Claudel
