With the summer coming to an end, it's time to start fantasizing about travel. How about the Portuguese wine regions of Madeira & Minho? Thanks to my guest blogger Andy Snow for this great article. Enjoy!

There are lots of different regions producing their own speciality wines across Portugal, each using its location and the unique conditions of its region to make a unique wine.

The Malbec grape is used to produce medium to full-bodied, dry red wine with good acidity and higher tannins and alcohol levels. The grapes tend to have dark, inky purple color profiles and ripe fruit flavors of cherry, plum and blackberry, which give to Malbec wines a decidedly jammy character.

The grape variety called Grenache is one of the most widely planted red wine grapes in the world. It is probably originated from Spain, where is widely diffused. Today can be found mainly – but not only - in the south of France, California and Australia.
