When I was about 11 I made this recipe for the Kern County Fair (Home Economics entry) labeled as "Grandma Bea's Pumpkin Roll Cake". I got a second place! At the time it was the most challenging and complex recipe I had ever attempted. The fact that I was able to follow the recipe and make the roll was a huge accomplishment!
