Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, later Queen of Portugal, is seen here as a very young lady. Maria Pia was only fifteen when she was married to King Louis I of Portugal.  They had two living sons together, Dom Carlos and Dom Alfonso.  Maria Pia lived to see her son, King Carlos I; and her grandson,  Crown Prince Louis Filipe, assassinated on February 1, 1908.
