It has a marvelous selection of petroglyphs, of which the most amazing is this solar calendar which marks the seasons as the sun passes through the gap. For more information on this calendar see www.parowangap.org/ These petroglyphs were carved approximately 1000 years ago by the ancestors of the Southern Paiute or by the people of the Sevier-Fremont culture.
